Tournament coverage

An ardent sports fan, one of the biggest goals of my teenage years was to cover an elite sports tournament. Since then, I’ve been extremely fortunate to cover a bunch of record-breaking events.

Working on tournaments not only gives wings to passion but helps me put my best skills to use, which include social media, creative thinking and communication. To find out more about my work, browse through this page.

ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019

May to July 2019

Working as a part of the core social media team, I helped deliver the 2019 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup at a grand scale. #CWC19 video content clocked over nets over 4.6 billion views across social media, with over 22,000 pieces of content posted through the event. I handled the on-ground coverage as well as social media updates throughout the event. ICC's popular Twitter interaction with Wimbledon on the day of the final was handled by me.

ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020

February to March 2020

One of my proudest and most visceral moments of my career was to stand at the iconic MCG during this historic moment and capture it live. My second event with the ICC, the Women's T20 World Cup in 2020 was path-breaking. We collectively made it the most-watched women's cricket event ever, while also garnering a total engagement of 81.5 million on social channels. I performed editorial as well as social duties at the event. Some viral pieces of content from the tournament were captured by me.

ATP Maharashtra Open 2018

January 2018

My first elite tournament, I covered the first-ever ATP event at Pune as a college student. It helped me gain a nuanced understanding of on-field reporting, one-on-one interviews, press conferences and journalistic networking. I interviewed eventual champion Gilles Simon, local boy Arjun Kadhe and US Open 2014 champion Marin Cilic in the tournament. This was accompanied by match reports and features from the event.
